The video player has to be restarted for the skin change to take effect. It is located within the View menu instead. You won’t find the option to enable it in the Options window, however. Both offer the same level of simplicity, but the dark skin probably looks nicer to users who prefer dark interfaces. And there are quite a lot of options that makes it a highly customizable video player.
All video and audio formats that most people commonly play are supported such as MP4 and MKV. Its user interface is all about simplicity. Therefore, using Media Player Classic would be more than enough for most people. Most of the time you won’t see the graphical interface when watching a movie, so there is little reason to use a video player based on how cool it looks. People in general prefer to watch movies in full screen mode, not in windowed one.
